PDFs on an iPad

Here’s a little tidbit about working with PDFs on an iPad…

For the readings in my master’s classes, I have found that some PDF files do not have text that is recognizable. I use PDF Master on my iPad and it allows me highlight text, post notes, make comments, etc. When text is not recognized by PDF Master, I open the file in Adobe Acrobat Pro. Under Tools, go to Recognize Text, then select In This File. The program will run through the PDF and detect the text. To fine tune any text that might not get recognized, you will need to find the “suspects” under OCR Suspects. Once you go through the Suspect Wizard, save the file and upload it into the PDF Master. Done!
